The Cleveland Indians have recalled reliever Jensen Lewis from the minors
23 year old righty reliever Jensen Lewis has been recalled from the minors as Aaron Fultz wasn’t quite ready to come off of the DL. Lewis has been outstanding in the minors splitting his time between AA Akron and AAA Buffalo. Lewis has pitched in 34 minor league games this season and he is 3-0 with 2 saves, a 1.73 ERA and a 0.94 WHIP. He has thrown 52 innings and he has only allowed 32 hits, walked 17 batters and whiffed 61 so far this season. Lewis will get to stay a while if he pitches good as the Indians need bullpen help.
After last night’s performance by Cabrera, anything would be better. He let the game get completely out of hand. Hopefully Lewis can come up and do something good to keep the Indians in the playoff picture.

This guy pitched well in his outings. He looks like he could become a staple in the bullpen. If he continues, I’d feel very confident with Betancourt, Perez, him, and Borowski to close out games.

I still have a feeling that the Indians will be looking to upgrade their bullpen before the trade deadline. You are right about Cabrera. He is out of options so the Indians continue to hold onto him for some reason.
