The Cleveland Indians have designated 27-year old lefty swinging 1B/OF Jordan Brown for assignment to make room on the roster for Austin Kearns. Brown played in 26 games for the Indians last season and he was 20 of 87 (.230 avg, .582 OPS) with 9 runs scored and 2 RBIs. He also played in 83 games in AAA-ball last season and he was 97 of 326 (.298 avg, .804 OPS) with 31 runs scored, 8 homers, 67 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. I’m not so sure that Brown is going to get through waivers because he has had a great minor league career.
