The Cleveland Indians had a rough first weekend

The Cleveland Indians lost two out of three games against the Blue Jays over the weekend as they wasted some outstanding starting pitching.  Justin Masterson, Ubaldo Jimenez and Derek Lowe combined to got 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA and a 0.59 WHIP…….and the Indians still only won 1 game this weekend.  That is partially due to the fact the their normally awesome bullpen was awful.  Seven relievers for the Indians combined to go 0-2 with 1 save, a 7.20 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP.  Only Rafael Perez and Dan Wheeler didn’t give up any runs out of the pen for the Tribe last weekend.  The Indians also didn’t hit much this weekend either as they hit .153 with a .577 OPS as a team.  They did crank five homers over the weekend though and that’s a bright spot for the offense.  Carlos Santana was 3 for 12 (.250 avg, 1.188 OPS) with 3 runs scored, 2 homers and 3 RBIs.  He walked 4 times and whiffed 3 times over the weekend, showing off his good eye.  3B Jack Hannahan also swung the bat well for the Indians as he was 3 for 12 (.250 avg, .808 OPS) with 1 run scored, 1 homer and 4 RBIs.  The Indians look to get back on the right track by hosting the Chicago White Sox starting tonight.
