The Cleveland Indians have lost 27-year old righty starting pitcher Josh Tomlin for the rest of the 2012 season and most of the 2013 season due to Tommy John Surgery. Tomlin pitched in 21 games (16 starts) for the Indians this year and he was 5-8 with a 6.36 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP. He gave up 126 hits (18 homers) while walking 25 batters and whiffing 54 of them in only 103 1/3 innings, which is pretty awful. Tomlin has now pitched in 59 games (54 starts) in his first three years with the Tribe and he is 23-19 with a 4.95 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP. Don’t let his win/loss record fool you as he has achieved it using smoke and mirrors.
