Kevin Slowey elects to become a free agent and leave the Cleveland Indians
28-year old righty starting pitcher Kevin Slowey has elected to become a free agent. Slowey pitched in 8 games (all starts) in AAA-ball for the Indians last year and he was 3-3 with a 5.14 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. Slowey last pitched in the majors back in 2011 with the Twins. He has pitched in 100 games (90 starts) in his first five years in the majors and he is 39-29 with a 4.66 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. This isn’t much of a loss for the Indians as Slowey was buried on their depth chart.
