The Cleveland Indians have signed 28-year old switch-hitting SS/2B Luis Hernandez to a minor league deal.  Hernandez played in 2 games for the Rangers last year and he was 0 for 2 (.000 avg, .000 OPS) with any runs scored or RBIs.  He also played in 129 games in AAA-ball last year for the Rangers in which he was 136 of 519 (.262 avg, .679 OPS) with 64 runs scored, 8 homers, 70 RBIs and 9 stolen bases.  Hernandez has now played in 122 games in his first five years in the majors and he is 65 of 267 (.243 avg, .580 OPS) with 22 runs scored, 3 homers, 20 RBIs and 6 stolen bases.  Hernandez will get a shot next spring to win a backup infielder job with the Tribe.
