The Cleveland Indians non-tender Jack Hannahan
The Indians did not tender a contract for the 2013 season to 32-year old lefty swinging 3B/1B Jack Hannahan, making him a free agent. Hannahan played in 105 games for the Tribe last year and he was 70 for 287 (.244 avg, .654 OPS) with 23 runs scored, 4 homers and 29 RBIs. He played in 215 games in his two years with the Indians and he was 150 of 607 (.247 avg, .688 OPS) with 61 runs scored, 12 homers, 69 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. Hannahan had an outstanding glove, but he just didn’t hit enough to merit full-time P.T. at either corner position for the Tribe. He won’t have much of a problem finding a new team if he doesn’t wind up re-signing with the Indians.
