The Indians have signed 26-year old lefty reliever Edward Paredes to a minor league deal.  He did not pitch in the United States last year.  He has pitched in 201 games (46 starts) in his first six years in the minors and he is 31-32 with 21 saves, a 4.66 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP.  He will start the 2013 season in AA or AAA-ball for the Indians.

The Indians have signed 30-year old righty reliever Jerry Gil to a minor league deal.  Gil is a converted infielder.  He pitched in 58 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball for the Blue Jays last year and he was 7-1 with 9 saves, a 4.92 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP.  He has pitched in 205 games (18 starts) in his first five years as a pitcher and he is 23-26 with 22 saves, a 5.63 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP.  Gil will likely start the 2013 season in AAA-ball for the Indians.
