The Indians have signed 30-year old righty reliever Jerry Gil to a minor league deal. Gil is a converted infielder. He pitched in 58 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball for the Blue Jays last year and he was 7-1 with 9 saves, a 4.92 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. He has pitched in 205 games (18 starts) in his first five years as a pitcher and he is 23-26 with 22 saves, a 5.63 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP. Gil will likely start the 2013 season in AAA-ball for the Indians.
