The Indians have signed 29-year old lefty swinging outfielder Jeremy Hermida to a minor league deal.  He played in 13 games for the Padres last year and he was 6 for 24 (.250 avg, .708 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 0 homers, 2 RBIs and 1 stolen base.  Hermida has now played in 632 games in his first 8 years in the majors and he is 517 of 2,012 (.257 avg, .749 OPS) with 248 runs scored, 65 homers, 250 RBIs and 22 stolen bases.  Maybe a change of scenery will be just what the doctor ordered for Hermida.  That being said, Hermida is going to be a longshot to win a spot on the Indians’ bench this spring.
