27-year old switch-hitting Asdrubal Cabrera will be the starting SS for the Indians again in 2013.  Rumors had the Indians dealing Cabrera over the winter, but that didn’t come to pass.  Cabrera played in 143 games for the Indians last year and he was 150 of 555 (.270 avg, .762 OPS) with 70 runs scored, 16 homers, 68 RBIs and 9 stolen bases.  Cabrera played in 136 games (133 starts) at SS for the Indians last year and he had 19 errors while showing off excellent range.  Cabrera has now played in 681 games in his first six years in the majors and he is 717 of 2,574 (.279 avg, .757 OPS) with 355 runs scored, 59 homers, 326 RBIs and 53 stolen bases.  If Cabrera gets injured or traded, 31-year old righty swinging Mike Aviles would likely take over as the starting SS for the Indians.  He played in 128 games (123 starts) at SS for the Red Sox last year and he had 15 errors while showing off pretty good range.  24-year old switch-hitting Juan Diaz played in 5 games in his first taste of the majors for the Indians last year and he was 4 for 15 (.267 avg, .620 OPS) with 4 runs scored.  He also played in 115 games in AA+AAA-ball last year in which he was 118 of 443 (.266 avg, .743 OPS) with 63 runs scored, 13 homers, 63 RBIs and 1 stolen base.
