It looks like the Indians could be platooning at 3B in 2013.  24-year old lefty swinging Lonnie Chisenhall and 31-year old righty swinging Mike Aviles are likely going to be set up in a platoon situation, unless one of them has a huge spring and wins the full time gig.  Chisenhall played in 43 games for the Indians last year and he was 38 of 142 (.268 avg, .741 OPS) with 16 runs scored, 5 homers, 16 RBIs and 2 stolen bases.  He played in 30 games (28 starts) at 3B for the Indians last year and he made 6 errors there while showing below average range.  Chisenhall has played in 109 games in his first two years with the Indians and he is 92 of 354 (.260 avg, .716 OPS) with 43 runs scored, 12 homers, 38 RBIs and 3 stolen bases.  Aviles can play all over the infield if the Indians need him to.  He played in 136 games for the Red Sox last year and he was 128 of 512 (.250 avg, .663 OPS) with 57 runs scored, 13 homers, 60 RBIs and 14 stolen bases.  He played in 1 game (1 start) for the Red Sox at 3B last year and he didn’t make any errors.  Aviles has now played in 475 games in his first five years in the majors and he is 488 of 1,761 (.277 avg, .715 OPS) with 229 runs scored, 39 homers, 190 RBIs and 51 stolen bases.  29-year old righty swinging Mark Reynolds can play 3B if need be, but most of his P.T. will be at DH in 2013 for the Tribe.  Reynolds played in 15 games (15 starts) at 3B for the Orioles last year and he made 6 errors there while showing terrible range.
