The Indians have designated 28-year old lefty starting pitcher David Huff for assignment.  Huff pitched in 9 games (1 start) for the Indians in spring training and he was 1-1 with a 5.82 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP.  Huff pitched in 6 games (4 starts) for the Indians last year and he was 3-1 with a 3.38 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP.  Huff pitched in 55 games (52 starts) in his four years with the Tribe and he was 18-26 with a 5.30 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP.  The Indians are going to try to deal Huff in the next few days instead of releasing him and getting nothing for him.

UPDATE:  (4/2/2013) – David Huff has cleared waivers and he has been outrighted to AAA-ball by the Indians.
